I’ve always played games, that much I know. And I’ve always had the latest consoles since the SNES. I had a Neo Geo at one point and I had a special Gold Game Boy with a fluorescent back lit screen! I had a Dreamcast and I’ve now got a Wii and a Xbox 360. So nothing has really changed, or has it? (more…)

Tuesday is new movie day and today I picked up a copy of the very enjoyable In Bruges.
Colin Farrell and Academy Award-nominee Ralph Fiennes star in this edgy action-packed comedy filled with thrilling chases spectacular shoot-outs and an explosive ending you won’t want to miss!Hit men Ray (Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson Harry Potter) have been ordered to cool their heels in the storybook city of Bruges (it’s in Belgium) after finishing a big job. But since hit men make the worst tourists they soon find themselves in a life & death struggle of comic proportions against one very angry crime boss (Fiennes)!
I really enjoyed this one, the cast did a great job with it and the laughs are non-stop.

I got 70 pages into Minutes to Burn and just didn’t find any reason to keep going. It wasn’t really the writer’s fault, just not what I was in the mood for. Having recently read a few Crichton novels and Natural Selection by Dave Freeman I just wasn’t in the mood for another eco-thriller.
But I will finish it eventually or pick up another of Gregg Andrew Hurwitz’s novels as it was well written.
So, now I’m reading:
Thirteen by Richard K. Morgan

Minutes to Burn by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz
In the year 2007 the world is not what it was…
Powerful earthquakes and hurricanes have left most of South America in ruins–and solar rays pouring down through holes in the depleted ozone layer can burn human flesh to a crisp in minutes. An impending global eco-catastrophe has brought a crack scientific team to a desolate island in the Galápaos–along with a ragtag squad of U.S. Navy SEALs entrusted with their protection–to position critical seismic equipment before the next wave of earthquakes hits. But there is something waiting for them all in the jungles of Sangre de Dios. A scientific phenomenon the likes of which has never been seen has evolved in the devastating heat of a killing sun. And with the world’s future hanging in the balance, a desperate search for answers has suddenly turned into a terrifying war for survival–transforming scientists and soldiers alike into something they never dreamed possible: prey.
